Gene Hackman Death: Police Say Actor Likely Died Week Before Discovery

The Santa Fe County Sheriff's office shares updates on the deaths of Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, in a press conference on Friday. During his autopsy, Hackman's pacemaker revealed his last known activity was on Feb. 17, which, for now, investigators believe was the day he died. They also confirm that the couple's home tested negative for carbon monoxide and react to questions surrounding two of their dogs being found alive.
