The Parks and Recreation Episode Was so Good, It's Hard to Pick a Favorite Moment

Fans finally got the Parks and Recreation reunion that they've been hungry for since the series ended in 2015 , though probably not the way they expected to. On April 30, Leslie Knope ( Amy Poehler ) and our favorite Pawnee parks department alumni reunited for a one-time-only special on NBC in support of Feeding America's COVID-19 Response Fund. Of course, Leslie spent the episode ensuring her loved ones were staying safe in a time of social distancing, but she also made sure to spread the word of safety to the rest of the world. If you missed the special, or the Paley Center tribute to the series that aired before the reunion episode, check out our favorite moments from the entire night ahead! We Swear It's the Gospel Truth - Disney Has a Live-Action Hercules Film in the Works

You asked and the gods listened - Disney is going the distance and doing a live-action remake of Hercules . The 1997 animated classic joins a long list of Disney films getting a 3D makeover and the studio already has the production team developing. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Dave Callaham, writer for Marvel's upcoming Simu Liu-led film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings , has been tapped to pen the script with Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo set to produce via their AGBO banner. Most Disney fans recall the film's amazing soundtrack - which is thanks to the glorious voices behind the movie's Muses - but the movie's story is a classic tale. A musical retelling of the Hercules legend, the 1997 flick featured a star-packed voice cast from Tate Donovan as the titular hunky demigod to James Woods as the hot-headed Hades, Danny DeVito as Philoctetes, and Susan Egan as Megara. No word on who will take over these iconic roles for the live-action cast

Netflix's Hollywood Is Based on a True Story, but Not in the Way You Think

Ryan Murphy's latest project is the Netflix limited series Hollywood , and after seeing the first trailer , it's easy to wonder if it's based on a true story . The answer to that question is actually a little bit complicated. We're breaking down what's pure fiction and what's based on reality - or, at the very least, real gossip. What Is Hollywood on Netflix About? At first glance, it looks like Hollywood is just your typical showbiz drama, set in the glamorous and dangerous world of post-World War II Hollywood . But there's a twist: it's set in a "what if?" sort of alternate timeline where many of the prejudices of the real world don't exist, exploring instead all the creativity that could have come from the kinds of people that the real Hollywood of the 1940s overlooked. "With the present so fraught and the future uncertain, we turned to the past for direction, uncovering buried history to spin an aspirational tale of what ifs

These Photos of the Never Have I Ever Cast Prove They're Just as Close Off Screen

After binge-watching Netflix's Never Have I Ever , I immediately wanted to join Devi's friend group. Not only are they super tight, but they also always seem to have a good time together ( like their fun TikTok challenge ). Now that I've started following the cast on social media - including Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Devi), Lee Rodriguez (Fab), Ramona Young (Eleanor), Darren Barnet (Paxton), and Jaren Lewison (Ben) - I want to be their friend in real life as well. While Maitreyi, Lee, and Ramona have a close bond on screen, it seems like the cast had just as much fun when they weren't filming. Since the show's release on April 27, the stars have been sharing behind-the-scenes looks on Instagram. The show's creator Mindy Kaling even posted a few photos with the cast. Waco: David Thibodeau Really Did Survive the Standoff, and Here's Where He Is Today

While the Dowdle brothers' Waco took creative liberties in their onscreen adaptation of the deadly 1993 standoff, they do focus on the actual people involved. In fact, David Thibodeau, portrayed by Rory Culkin, wrote A Place Called Waco: A Survivor's Story , the 1999 memoir serving as the show's basis. While it's been nearly three decades since the siege, Thibodeau remains vocal about his time with the Branch Davidians and even consulted on the series, which has become part of the culture once more since dropping on Netflix . Thibodeau, while in his early 20s , first met David Koresh (Taylor Kitsch) in Los Angeles, where they bonded over music. After befriending Koresh, he moved onto the Mount Carmel commune in Waco, TX, for 18 months . There, Koresh led the Branch Davidians, an offshoot of the Seventh-Day Adventists that predicted the second coming of Christ and the Armageddon . Before the 1993 siege that ended with a deadly fire, the government had been investiga

Oh, Snap! Rewatching That's So Raven as an Adult Is an Even Better Experience

Growing up, That's So Raven was one of my favorite shows on Disney Channel. I loved seeing myself represented in a positive light, I adored Raven Baxter's sense of fashion, and, honestly, I probably got some of my quirkiness from her. To this day, my older sisters and I randomly quote our favorite lines from the series (e.g. "Ya nasty " and "Quiet! Mama's trying to relax!") Thankfully, Disney+ has allowed me to revisit That's So Raven in all its four-season glory. I've been binging the comedy like no one's business and laughing as if I've never seen it before. My feelings about certain things have even shifted a bit now that I'm watching the show as an adult. Like, I kind of admire Cory's hustle - the kid was an entrepreneur . And the way they address important themes, such as racism , body image, and climate change, fits right in with how we discuss those topics more often and openly nowadays. Keep reading to see why I have

Ryan Murphy Plays Fast and Loose With Hollywood in New Netflix Series, and We're Intrigued

Ryan Murphy is back with a new Netflix series after the Ben Platt-led musical series, The Politican , but this time he's gone full Hollywood. Taking viewers back to the Golden Age of Tinseltown, Hollywood follows an eclectic group of characters trying to earn their time in the spotlight while fighting against a rigged system and biases across race, gender, and sexuality that still run rampant to this day. But, in a unique spin that brings the limited series from heartbreaking to hopeful, the show takes a revisionist spin of history and asks, what would show business look like if those obstacles were dismantled? In a press release, executive producer, writer, and director Janet Mock shared the vision for the series, explaining that she, along with creators Murphy and Ian Brennan, turned to history to "spin an aspirational tale of what-ifs." On Wednesday, Yolanda confirmed the 25-year-old model's pregnancy to Dutch outlet RTL Boulevard as she shared her excitement. "Of course, we are so excited," Yolanda gushed. 12 Photos of David Corenswet That Prove He's the Perfect Instagram Boyfriend

If the people in your life aren't as big fans of Ryan Murphy's shows as you are, they might not know about David Corenswet . Although he's been in other projects, like 2018's Affairs of State , he's mainly made a name for himself in the Ryan Murphy-verse for his roles as River on The Politician and Jack Costello on Hollywood . Right now, he may feel like your hidden gem - and while you may want it to stay that way - it's only a matter of time before everyone knows his name. Although he won't be yours forever ( and isn't really yours because he's technically single ), you can still pretend he is by introducing him to your friends and family (and potentially creating monster David Corenswet stans). Exclusive: HTGAWM's Viola Davis Relives First-Ever Sex Scene and How She Pushed Past Fears

Everyone has a moment of self-doubt: even glorious Emmy-winning actresses like Viola Davis. The How to Get Away With Murder star has been acting since the early '90s, but that doesn't stop her from having a case or two of the nerves . In POPSUGAR's exclusive, behind-the-scenes featurette, Davis relives one of the most frightening moments of her career: her first-ever sex scene that just happened to occur in the ABC legal thriller's pilot episode. "Everything in my spirit was gearing up for that scene," she admits in the video, noting that she couldn't eat or sleep before filming. Of course, when she went into the meeting for scene choreography, her scene partner Billy Brown (who stars as Nate Lahey in the series) was cool as a cucumber, "eating a sandwich and drinking a smoothie." But the experience blustered Davis to confront her fear and finally accept herself as the female lead of the groundbreaking series. "I had a massive revelatio

Just "Like a Prayer," Kelly Clarkson's Performance of Madonna's Classic Took Us There

If there's ever been a time to party like it's 1989, listening to Kelly Clarkson 's cover of Madonna 's "Like a Prayer" is it. Clarkson starts the video off strong in a montage that has me thinking I need to make one myself to spice up my video calls. Proving to be just as committed to the theme, her bandmates got in on the fun with lighting, looks, and instruments that are straight out of an '80s dream (we see you, keytar). Clarkson has been dominating the at-home performance game with her covers, including H.E.R.'s "Focus" . Whether she's singing one of her own songs, like "I Dare You" in five different languages , or doing "Kellyoke" , Clarkson's vocals can't help but bring a smile to your face. 5 Noteworthy Differences Between Hulu's Normal People and the Original Novel

The way Hulu's adaptation of Sally Rooney's Normal People captures the intimate tensions of the source novel is remarkably spot-on. We see an intelligent (and fairly faithful) translation of the novel to the screen, one that deftly sparks conversations about class and consent. The Irish setting and the roller-coaster relationship between Marianne and Connell are there as well, topped off with a melancholy indie soundtrack . Still, the TV version does take creative liberties, inserting subtle changes here and there. After all, the novel delves into the characters' innermost thoughts, and it's up to the screen adaptation to externalize those thoughts. If you were wondering if you caught those little changes, read on as we break down the most notable differences between the series and the novel. https://ift.tt/2WaJXCM

Julie Andrews on Making Our Dreams Come True With Princess Diaries 3: “Sure, I’d Be Up For It”

It was way back in January 2019 that we learned of The Princess Diaries 3 being on the cards after Anne Hathaway casually confirmed "there is a script," just ready and waiting. At the time, the Serenity actor stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and dished the gossip on something we secretly all want to know. When asked if a The Princess Diaries 3 was in the making, Hathaway replied, "I want to do it, Julie wants to do it, Debra Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it." Fair to say, we had so many questions! Is Mandy Moore on board? Will Chris Pine be there? Is Fat Louie still alive? Can we expect to see another epic slumber party? "We all really want it to happen, but we don't want to do it unless it's perfect because we love it just as much as you guys love it." Hathaway kindly reassures us, "We're working on it." So, much to our disappointment, we'd not heard anything about the movie since, until now.

All aboard! Perhaps their most adorable moment so far came when Max, 28, was singing and playing the piano on Instagram live - and Demi, 27, came in carrying a blanket, unaware that he was broadcasting to fans. Plus, Sam Smith - who recently collaborated with Demi on their new track , "I'm Ready" - revealed that Demi and Max "seem so sweet," they told Andy Cohen.
