'The Mandalorian' just dropped a major reveal about The Child...and then some

The Mandalorian did not take Thanksgiving weekend off, and instead gave us one of the most significant, loaded episodes of the entire series. "The Jedi" is nonstop, whether it's action, history, or cuteness — not to mention introducing a fan favorite to the live-action Star Wars canon. Oh, and this episode casually dropped the Child's name. GROGU. Sweet baby Grogu. Sweet 50-year-old traumatized baby Grogu. This reveal is dropped so casually by Ahsoka that it takes us and Mando a minute to get back on track — but by then she's given us even more backstory and we have to rewind to keep up. Grogu was raised at the Jedi temple on Coruscant, the training place and home base of the Jedi Order until most of its members were, you know, destroyed. Ahsoka tells Din that Grogu was taken from the temple "at the end of the Clone Wars, when the Empire rose to power" — which could literally mean moments before Anakin Skywalker arrived at the temple to massacre

There's no shame in not finishing a video game

Welcome to  No Shame November ! This week we're diving into the pop culture we love that society tells us we shouldn't. It’s OK to leave a video game unfinished. Even if you like it, even if you really want to finish it, it’s OK that you haven’t. It doesn’t make you a failure. Video games are meant to be entertainment. If a game doesn’t suit your mood, drop it and try again another time. If a game is too difficult, give it a rest for a week, a month, or even a year. If a game bores you, drop it forever. If you finish one, great! If you get halfway through, or even 90 percent of the way there and stop, also great! Chance are you paid for it, and it’s your choice to do whatever you want with it. Alex Trebek channels Mr Rogers in short, sweet, final Thanksgiving message

Beloved Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died of pancreatic cancer on Nov. 8 of this year , but his last appearances, taped during what would be the final weeks of his life, are still airing. In Thursday's episode, he briefly addressed the audience who would be watching on Thanksgiving. Looking ahead to a holiday that would be held in the wake of a fraught and divisive election, and amidst a pandemic that's killed over 260,000 Americans and kept millions more away from their loved ones, Trebek offered a few words of comfort to people who are struggling. "You know, in spite of what America and the rest of the world is experiencing right now, there are many reasons to be thankful," he said, his famous voice slightly hoarse. "There are more and more people extending helpful hands to do a kindness to their neighbors, and that's a good thing. Keep the faith — we're gonna get through all this, and we will be a better society because of it." Read more... M

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's iconic fanny pack look revived in huge Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was pretty lame this year due to coronavirus precautions.  But one balloon stood out during the scaled-down event that made a small crowd of paradegoers wish they had just stayed home.  Towering above the shortened parade route, which was designed mostly for a TV audience , floated Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The balloon captured him in his iconic 1990s look, with an arched eyebrow, black turtleneck, silver chain, and fanny pack. You know the one, it's been memed a thousand times. The balloon's fanny pack itself was filled with more than 50,000 cubic feet of helium.  Read more... More about Memes , Entertainment , and Celebrities https://ift.tt/37rbrK3
