Jazmine Sullivan Urges Men to Rally For Abortion Rights at the BET Awards: "Stand Up"

Thornton Jazmine Sullivan was among the many stars who advocated for abortion rights at the 2022 BET Awards , held days after the Supreme Court's devastating decision to overturn Roe v. Wade . While accepting the best female R&B/pop award at the June 26 event, Sullivan urged men in attendance to speak out against dwindling abortion access in the nation. The singer asked, "OK, fellas? Y'all got us? Cause we got y'all." "This is everybody's issue." "As always, I do this for the women, for my sisters especially. Diddy Celebrates His Big Night at the BET Awards With His Family

Sean Combs, better known as Diddy , is receiving the lifetime achievement award at this year's BET Awards . He's set to celebrate the honor with an epic retrospective performance featuring Mary J. Blige , Jodeci, Nas, Lil' Kim, Busta Rhymes, The Lox, Bryson Tiller, Faith Evans, and The Maverick City Choir. Diddy brought some of his family along to celebrate his big night on Sunday. His eldest, Quincy , appeared on the BET awards red carpet wearing purple, while his third eldest, King, sported all red. Diddy 's mother, Janice Combs, also appeared by her son's side on the red carpet, wearing a glittering green dress. Lizzo brought the house down as she opened the 2022 BET Awards on June 26 with her disco-inspired performance of her hit single "About Damn Time." The singer performed in front of an enormous gold disco ball, which matched her crop top and flared pants. Lizzo began the performance with a solo on her flute . "It's about damn time we have fun! Rita Moreno Reflects on Her Botched Abortion in Wake of Roe v. Wade Being Overturned

Shortly after the news that the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade broke, EGOT winner Rita Moreno opened up to Variety about her botched abortion in the pre-Roe v. Wade era. The 90-year-old actor shared that her then boyfriend, Marlon Brando, found a doctor to perform an abortion for her while they were dating. However, the procedure wasn't done correctly, leaving Moreno bleeding in the aftermath. "Marlon found a doctor through some friends," Moreno told Variety. "He was a real doctor - Marlon paid him $500 - as opposed to something in a back alley." Despite the doctor being licensed, he still botched the procedure.
