Gone but not forgotten. On Saturday, Serena Williams announced the death of her dog, Lauerlei, on Instagram , sharing some of her favorite moments with her sweet pup. "Lauerlei sadly took her last breath yesterday," Williams wrote in her caption. "I am sad but happy for all the time and all the extra I got to spend with her. She lived a long long life. The last year and a half was a bonus. She got to get anything she ever wanted and she was biting toes till the end. Literally." Lauerlei did indeed live a long and happy life, spending all of her 18 years with the tennis legend and her family . Williams added that Lauerlei, "LOVED chicken and acrobatics. Although, for his part, John Mulaney didn't seem to mind when his son, Malcolm Hiệp , surprised him onstage at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville to help him celebrate his 40th birthday (with a little help from his mom, Olivia Munn , of course). Munn and Malcolm have been traveling with the comedian while he's on tour, but he wasn't expecting his girlfriend and their 9-month-old son to lead the audience in singing happy birthday to him at the end of his Aug. 27 show. Starz's " Raising Kanan " returned for season two on Aug. 14, and the drama is already heating up, especially with Joey Bada$$ 's Unique. The last we saw of the rapper's character in the season one finale , Raq ( Patina Miller ) framed him for the attempted murder of Detective Howard ( Omar Epps ) to protect Kanan ( Mekai Curtis ). Despite beating the charge, Unique returns to the streets in season two to find that his whole world has been flipped upside down. "This is the first time I've played a clear villain." Months after being locked up for Howard's shooting, Unique gets released from jail and discovers his drug business has been scooped up by Raq and her crew . On Aug. 26, Page Six reported a source close to the Kardashian-Jenner family claimed Kourtney Kardashian 's ex, Scott Disick , had been "kind of excommunicated" from the family in the wake of Kourtney's marriage to Travis Barker . But it wasn't long after the report started circulating that Jenner fired back at the idea that the father of three of her grandchildren could ever be removed from the family's inner circle. Jenner responded to a post about the claim on Paper Magazine's Instagram by saying it was entirely untrue. The late Star Trek star Nichelle Nichols will join some fellow Trekkies "where no one has gone before." Nichols, who died in July at age 89, will have her ashes sent to space. Nichols was best known as Lt. Nyota Uhura in the original Star Trek series. Playing one of the first Black women in a lead role on American television, Nichols was a trailblazer who inspired generations — including NASA astronaut Mae Jemison , the first Black woman to travel to space. After Star Trek ended, Nichols herself volunteered with NASA on the Astronaut Corps project, to encourage the hiring of marginalized employees. Nichols will be joined by other departed Star Trek actors and executives: Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry; his wife and actor Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, who played several roles in different Trek series and films; actor James Doohan, who played Scotty; and visual effects artist Douglas Trumbull, who worked on Star Trek: The Motion Picture .
