That's So Raven Alum Kyle Massey Reportedly Charged With Immoral Communication With Minor

Kyle Massey, who previously starred on Disney Channel's That's So Raven and Cory in the House, has reportedly been charged with one count of immoral communication with a minor. According to court documents obtained by People, the felony charge was filed on June 14 in Washington state. The court documents also reveal that Kyle didn't show up for his his arraignment scheduled on Monday in King's County.

The charges comes after Massey was sued in early 2019 for allegedly sending explicit photos, texts, and videos to a 13-year-old girl. The case was eventually dismissed, but People reports that the recent felony charge stems from the same allegations from the 2019 lawsuit. In the lawsuit, the girl alleged that she met Kyle when she was 4 years old and stayed in touch because she wanted to pursue a career in entertainment. She alleged that they kept in contact and Kyle developed a close relationship with her family.

They reportedly reconnected in November 2018, when the girl expressed interest in appearing on Cory in the House. She alleged that during this time Kyle was made aware that she was in the eighth grade. In December 2018, Massey allegedly requested to be friends with the girl on Snapchat, and she reported that he sent her "numerous sexually explicit text messages, images, and videos." She eventually sued the actor for at least $1.5 million dollars.

Following the allegations in 2019, Kyle denied the claims via a statement from his attorney Lee A. Hutton, III. "No child should ever be exposed to sexually explicit materials and I unequivocally and categorically deny any alleged misconduct," the statement read at the time. "In early 2019, Plaintiff's attorneys demanded $1.5M threatening to go public to destroy my career if I did not comply. My family and I rejected this extortion attempt, because I have faith that the legal process will reveal the truth."
