The Battle of Winterfell has now come and gone, and like most of the Westeros soldiers, it was in tents. If you’ve already had the chance to check out episode 3 of the final season of Game of Thrones, and that horrible pun cheered you up even a little, you’re welcome. If you haven’t seen it yet though – and if that’s the case, then why are you here? – we’ll warn you now that spoilers lie ahead.
Still with us? Good, because with a ridiculously high body count and tons of epic moments, last night’s outing of the show delivered on everything we expected. In fact, it was the most tweeted-about episode in television history, with fans furiously debating and discussing all the key scenes.
We got dragon fights, our beloved characters dying to save other beloved characters and did we mention the dragon fights? Of course, there was that big scene with Arya and the Night King, too, which is perhaps drawing the most attention online. But it seems not everyone was pleased with what HBO delivered, as Twitter is also full of people stating that they were disappointed with the episode and below, you’ll find just a few examples of that.

Wow. I'm not surprised it wasn't good, but it's still disappointing what a let down #GameOfThrones was yikes. No stakes. Nearly every main character survived. Everything was such a stretch, it happened offscreen. Writing, what writing?

I wish I was as geeked as everyone else, but I feel like I wasted 80 minutes watching something where only the last 10 or 15 minutes mattered. Man that episode was as boring as I thought it would be #gameofthrones

Well, you know what they say, right? You can’t please everyone, and though it obviously wasn’t able to put a smile on the face of each and every viewer, last night’s episode of Game of Thrones was still a thoroughly enjoyable hour or so of television that teed things up quite nicely as we head into the final few outings.
Speaking of which, the hit fantasy series will be back on our screens this Sunday and will look to deal with the aftermath of the Battle of Winterfell as it continues to move the pieces into place for what’ll no doubt be an explosive series finale.
