Scream: Mary J. Blige and the Original Ghostface Star in the Terrifying Third Season on VH1

If you've been patiently waiting for the third season of the TV adaptation of Scream (which originally aired on MTV but is now on VH1) since it was announced back in October 2016, we have some excellent news. The Hollywood Reporter announced that after being in the works for over three years, the retooled season is finally going to air with a six-episode season titled Scream: Resurrection. The show will premiere on Monday, July 8, and will air two episodes a night, ending on Wednesday, July 10.

Season three will follow Power Rangers star RJ Cyler as Deion Elliot, a local football star "whose tragic past comes back to haunt him and threaten his hard-earned plans for the future." We're already getting some classic horror-movie vibes, especially since the season is the first to feature the iconic Ghostface mask and original voice actor Roger Jackson. The rest of the star-studded cast includes Keke Palmer, Tyler Posey, Tyga, Paris Jackson (in her TV debut), and Mary J. Blige. Yes, you read that correctly, Mary J. Blige. There may not be any hateration in this dancery but, apparently, there will be some murder.

Check out the first look at the upcoming season, and get ready to watch Scream: Resurrection with all of the lights on.
