Make way for Carmen Carter, she knows how to work a crowd. The former background singer brought her talents to America's Got Talent on Tuesday night, and performed a rendition of the Beatles classic "Come Together" - with a new twist. Judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough, and guest, Ellie Kemper bopped along to the energetic cover as Carter showed off her vocal range and stage presence.
"It's never too late. There's nothing to stop me now. It's my time and that's why I'm here," Carter said before her performance kicked off. Her unstoppable energy certainly did amaze the crowd - so much so that Ellie Kemper basically broke her chair from enthusiastic clapping. Hey, that's a sign of a job well done.
The audience certainly enjoyed Carter's rendition, but Cowell suggested she get out of her comfort zone and stay away from covers. We'll see if she takes his advice going into the live shows. For now, watch her full performance above and see why it ended in a rousing standing ovation.
