Netflix's surreal 'Cooking with Paris' trailer gives Hilton her Julia Child moment

Have a seat and help yourself to the "culinary expertise and kitchen prowess" of one Paris Hilton.

On Tuesday, Netflix dropped its first trailer for Cooking with Paris — an unscripted reality series that sees the heiress-turned-amateur chef invite her celebrity friends over for dinner. Across six episodes, Paris will attempt to wow her guests with homecooked dishes she only sort of knows how to make, transforming The Simple Life star's viral video from last year into a full-blown television production.

"Any bitch can cook," Hilton announces, amidst a montage of spectacular mishaps seen in the trailer. From earnestly googling "what is zest lemon" to dropping her feathered sleeve in a bowl of batter, Hilton appears as a kind of everywoman's Julia Child in the hilarious preview. As Mashable writer Belen Edwards rightly pointed out, she's giving "big Ratatouille vibes" when it comes to inspiration. Of course, the setting is more glitter and glam than rat-infested bistro.

Hilton's guests will include Kim Kardashian West, Demi Lovato, Nikki Glaser, Saweetie, and Lele Pons, as well as Nicky and Kathy Hilton. Cooking with Paris will be ready Aug. 4 on Netflix.
