"The Best Man" Cast Handles Unfinished Business in "The Final Chapters"' First Trailer

It's the beginning of the end of an era for " The Best Man " franchise. Our beloved friend group - Harper ( Taye Diggs ), Lance (Morris Chestnut), Jordan ( Nia Long ), Robyn ( Sanaa Lathan ), Shelby (Melissa De Sousa), Quentin ( Terrence Howard ), Candace ( Regina Hall ), and Murch (Harold Perrineau) - has come a long way since the wedding that almost didn't happen in the 1999 film, and their eventful Christmas extravaganza in 2013's "The Best Man Holiday." Now, over two decades later, Peacock is closing the book on the '90s cult classic in a limited series titled "The Best Man: The Final Chapters," which catches up with the cast one last time as they navigate evolving relationships and past grievances in their older years. According to the show's first teaser trailer released on Oct. 29, the forthcoming series will bring the franchise and its cast full circle as Harper's infamous, best-selling "Unfinished Business" no...

The "Friends" Premiere Changed Everything For Its Young Stars

Looking back, one of the things that arguably made "Friends" so successful was how perfect of a job the producers did with casting. We aren't just talking in terms of talent, but age, too! The series was about a group of friends in their late 20s and early 30s living, laughing, and loving in New York City, and the actors who were about that age, too. Often, real events that happened to the actors - like Lisa Kudrow's pregnancy - were incorporated into the plot of the show. Plus, the young cast ended up spending a lot of time together and forging deep relationships. Their bond was still deeply apparent during the 2021 "Friends" reunion . Matthew Perry, who played Chandler, also talked about how he had a crush on all his female costars during an Oct. 29 interview with Diane Sawyer. He told Sawyer that he actually asked Jennifer Aniston out before filming, but she said no. Still, he pined for her on set. "Well, how can you not have a crush on Jenny? A...

157 Swoon-worthy Romance Novels Coming Out in 2022

Enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, fake dating turned into something more, and even a dash of good old-fashioned forced proximity - the best romance books of 2022 are filled with the genre's most beloved tropes. If you love nothing more than curling up with a rom-com or a weepy romance read, this is your year. From contemporary love stories to historical romance novels to romantic tales with just the right amount of magic, there's no shortage of swoon-worthy books coming your way. Farrah Rochon, Tessa Bailey, Jasmine Guillory , and Emily Henry are just of a handful of the bestselling romance authors releasing must-read rom-coms this year. Meanwhile, the overachiever of the year award goes to "Boyfriend Material" author Alexis Hall, who has not one, but two new rom-coms hitting bookshelves (and e-readers) in 2022. While we love seeing our favorite authors...

Here's What Those Head Statues in "The White Lotus" Season 2 Mean

" The White Lotus " season two moves the vacation-themed series to Sicily , and there's one iconic part of the island that the show makes note of: the intricate statues of heads. During the first episode, Cameron (Theo James), Ethan (Will Sharpe), Daphne (Meghann Fahy), and Harper (Aubrey Plaza) ask about the statue in their room. Their hotel-worker guide explains to them that it's called a Testa di Moro. He explains, "The story is a Moor came here a long time ago and seduced a local girl. But then she found out that he had a wife and children back home. So because he lied to her, she cut his head off." The group wonders why people would want to display the statues if they have such a dark backstory. Daphne tells Cameron, "It's a warning to husbands, babe. Screw around and you'll end up in the garden." Rocco doesn't tell them the rest of the legend, or the other interpretations of the Testa di Moro's origins. According to Visit ...

"The White Lotus" Season 2 Kicks Off With Another Mysterious Death

"White Lotus" season two is here, and it introduces us to a new over-the-top resort and an almost completely fresh cast of characters. At the beginning of the very first episode, which premiered Oct. 28, Daphne (Meghann Fahy) goes swimming in the ocean one last time before her return flight to the US. But her last relaxing swim is anything but when she finds a dead body in the water with her, kicking off a mystery we'll be wondering about all season. However, it seems the mysterious person is not the only death this season. In the next scene, Rocco tells hotel manager Valentina (Sabrina Impacciatore) that one of the guests has drowned. "It's fine, the ocean is not hotel property," she says. "We can't be liable for what happens in the Ionian sea!" "You don't get it," Rocco counters. "Salvatore says other bodies have been found." A baffled Valentina then asks, "What the f*ck are you saying, Rocco? What do you mean...

After 6 years, David S. Pumpkins returns to 'SNL'

Ever since his first appearance on Saturday Night Live back in 2016, the appeal for Tom Hanks as David S. Pumpkins was unclear but undeniable. The cult-like status and popularity of the character even got NBC to greenlight a Halloween special for him in 2017. And now in 2022, Hanks has donned that stupid suit once again. This time, however, instead of the "Tower of Terror," it's "Cellblock 666," a terrifying prison tour ride. One of the riders, Andrew Dismukes, has many questions about why David S. Pumpkins and his skeletons (Mikey Day and a returning Bobby Moynihan) keep appearing amongst the actual horror movie characters. This is a valid question to ask but as another rider (Jack Harlow) says "I'm kinda feeling him though, a nice change of pace."

PBS NewsHour talks to surging Republican candidates in 'SNL' cold open

After a break last week, Saturday Night Live returned with a PBS NewsHour rendition for its cold open. Here, host Judy Woodruff (Heidi Gardner) interviews Republican candidates Herschel Walker (Kenan Thompson), Dr. Oz (Mikey Day), and Kari Lake (Cecily Strong) as their numbers continue to surge in the polls despite "none of you having any political experience." Each candidate got a chance to plead their case for their respective election races as Walker mostly rambled unintelligently, Dr. Oz hawked weight loss products, and Lake tried to downplay her support of 2020 election fraud claims despite it being the focal point of her campaign. Even more impressive than anything in this sketch though is Cecily Strong's Kari Lake impression, complete with smeared Vaseline all over the camera lens to make it super authentic.

Tom Hanks's David S. Pumpkins Returns To "Saturday Night Live" for a Halloween Treat

Like all great horror movie villains, the iconic David S. Pumpkins , as played by Tom Hanks returned for a sequel appearance on the Oct. 29 episode of "Saturday Night Live." Pumpkins was last seen in the 2016 sketch "Haunted Elevator" were he tormented Beck Bennett and Kate McKinnon as they attempted to enjoy an elevator ride that promised to be full of frights. This time around, David ends up being the star attraction of a Halloween prison ride that host and musical guest Jack Harlow , Ego Nwodim, and Andrew Dismukes hope will scare them until they puke or faint (or both). The sketch hits many of the same beats as the original, with Dismukes's becoming increasingly agitated as the ride's jump scares careen from Annabelle and Michael Myers to David and his dancing skeleton pals (once again played by Mikey Day and Bobby Moynihan). Just like in the original sketch, Kenan Thompson plays the ride operator who informs the disgruntled customers why there...

31 best breakup movies to mend a shattered heart

Happy endings are nice and all, but even the most idealistic among us know they don't always last. Sometimes, the happy ending is just the start of a larger story that ends with someone weeping into a pint of ice cream alone on the couch, flipping channels in search of something to mend a broken heart, or at least distract from the pain for a bit. We've compiled 31 of the best breakup movies to help you process your sadness, exorcise your rage, or encourage you to dust yourself back up and move the hell on. 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II' continues the franchise's long history of courting controversy

The Call of Duty game franchise is no stranger to controversy. In fact, controversy is as normal as the gunfights in the series. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is the latest installment in the series to take real-world geopolitical events and use them to manufacture controversy. Whether it's the player unemotionally gunning down civilians in an airport or the re-framing of an American war crime as Russian, the series has a long history of shocking moments. Modern Warfare II is no different. Without getting too detailed, the plot of Modern Warfare 2 is a globe-trotting adventure from Mexico to Amsterdam to Chicago that involves chasing terrorists and uncovering a secret plot by a rogue American general and his private military faction. But instead of the plot, the internet is abuzz over the game's interpretation of recent geopolitics, and many have called out the series for its not-so-subtle — and perhaps superficial — use of real-world headlines for campaign content...

Matthew Perry Reveals He Asked Jennifer Aniston Out on a Date Before "Friends"

Before the cameras ever started rolling on "Friends," Matthew Perry already had a crush on Jennifer Aniston . In his new interview with Diane Sawyer for "ABC News," Perry discussed his memoir "Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing," and opened up about the time he asked Aniston out on a date. According to the actor, he met his future costar before they were both cast in "Friends," but when he asked her out, she said no, suggesting they be friends instead. Despite Aniston turning him down, Perry revealed he still had a crush on her when the show began filming - as well as on Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox . This revelation prompted Sawyer to call the star a "serial crusher." Perry replied, "Well, how can you not have a crush on Jenny? And Courteney [Cox]? And Lisa [Kudrow]? So I made it kind of difficult to go to work, because I had to pretend that I didn't have these crushes." In his memoir, the 53-year-old wrot...
