'Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan' season 3 trailer promises more John Krasinski with a gun

A promotional still from Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, showing John Krasinski in the title role. He's hiding behind wooden pallets in a warehouse, holding a gun.

The official trailer for the third season of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan has arrived, showing the titular character is still running, gunning, and getting tangled up in international politics. At this point he's got to be wondering if the problem might be him.

The eight-episode season will see CIA case officer Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) investigating a plot to restore the USSR — a plot which unfortunately involves nuclear weapons. Events predictably do not go well for him, and he is soon accused of treason against the U.S. government, prompting him to go on the run all across Europe.

Just don't expect to learn anything about geography from his adventures. Jack Ryan is just here to avert nuclear warfare and look cool, not depict locations realistically.

Season 3 of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan premieres Dec. 21 on Prime Video.
