Taylor Swift Fans Are Absolutely, Positively Not Crying Over Lover (JK, They Definitely Are)

After all the hype and countless music video Easter eggs, Taylor Swift's seventh album, Lover, is finally here. On Aug. 23, the singer dropped the 18-track LP that's embedded with emotion, romanticism, and . . . Idris Elba - whom she costars with in the upcoming film Cats. (Yes, the 29-year-old singer included a snippet from Elba's interview on The Late Late Show With James Corden at the beginning of "London Boy," though some listeners initially thought it was Swift's beau, Joe Alwyn.) With a sunnier sound than 2017's Reputation, Swift embraces her quirks and the waves of romance, while addressing the current social and political climate.

"This album is very much a celebration of love, in all its complexity, coziness, and chaos. It's the first album of mine that I've ever owned, and I couldn't be more proud," she wrote on Instagram, referencing recent drama surrounding the ownership of her music. Thankfully, we have this album to hold us over while we wait for Swift to rerecord previously released songs to gain full control over her artistry. Keep reading to revel in the glory of Lover with fellow Swifties.
