We're pretty sure there were no dry eyes in the room when Hailee Steinfeld performed her song, "Wrong Direction," for the first time ever on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday night. After debuting the single in January, the 23-year-old singer bared her heart on stage as she belted out the lyrics to the ballad. "I performed wrong direction for the first time tonight on @colbertlateshow," Steinfeld wrote on Instagram shortly after. "I didn't expect it to be as hard as it was . . . the second I starting singing, I felt like my heart stopped. Hurt so good."
"Wrong Direction" is Steinfeld's first single since the 2019 release of "Afterlife." While she has yet to officially announce a new album, many fans believe "Wrong Direction" is aimed at her ex-boyfriend, Niall Horan. Watch Steinfeld's performance above.
