Penn Badgley's ASMR Video Has Resurfaced Because It's Just That Amazing

There are a lot of reasons to love Netflix's You - the suspense, the twists, the ironic humor - but one of the biggest draws is Penn Badgley's voice as his narrations keep you hanging on to every word. Such is the case for the actor's captivating ASMR video, which he filmed for W Magazine. The clip - which was published on Sept. 12 - recently resurfaced on Twitter following Netflix's release of season two of You. (Because binging 10 hours of Penn portraying the uber-creepy stalker Joe Goldberg isn't enough, fans are apparently looking for other ways to enjoy the actor's soothing vocals.)

Thankfully, Penn is a lot less sinister than his character, so we can enjoy his ASMR explorations guilt-free. In the video, he talks - well, whispers - about his early roles as Scott Tucker in 2006's John Tucker Must Die and Dan Humphrey on The CW's Gossip Girl, which aired from 2007 to 2012. He also explains how his time as Dan connects to his current role as Joe. "In striving for his morality, he, unfortunately, was judgmental," he said in a hushed tone. "So I think the experience I had of playing him was an introspective one that now finds its meta progression and expression in basically being Dan who murders people." Watch the interview above as Penn quietly chats more about his life while creating different sounds with props!
