Post Malone Made a Pikachu-Approved Cover of "Only Wanna Be With You," and It's a Total Bop

Certified Pokémon-lover Post Malone has just blessed us with one hell of a bop with his cover of Hootie and the Blowfish's "Only Wanna Be With You." The song comes as a result of Pokémon's 25th anniversary, which will also feature Malone in concert for Pokémon Day on Feb. 27. It's not the collaboration you would expect, but Malone's soothing vocals and the laid-back style of the '90s song just mesh. It's pretty hard not to get lost in the music as you sway to beat, which includes the Ecruteak City theme from Pokémon Gold and Silver mixed in. Even Darius Rucker, aka Hootie himself, approves of the cover, tweeting, "The smile in my face will not leave for a long time. This is awesome. My bro @PostMalone bringing it. Hell yes man!!!!!!!!!"

As for why Malone was the perfect choice for the cover and celebration, he still has a Gameboy Color, so he can specifically play Pokémon. "I've been a fan for such a long time, kind of grew up with it," he previously told Billboard. "Celebrating 25 years is a big deal, so we decided to do it together." You can listen to the '90s gem above for yourself, while prepping to be the very best, like no one ever was.
