Loved The Souvenir? Get ready for a sequel. The trailer to Joanna Hogg's The Souvenir Part II has been released, featuring an all-star lineup of British movie talent.
The film – written and directed by Hogg – stars Tilda Swinton, Honor Swinton Byrne, Richard Ayoade, Joe Alwyn, Ariane Labed, Jaygann Ayeh, Harris Dickinson, and Charlie Heaton.
The story follows on from film student Julie's (Honor Swinton Byrne) relationship with Anthony (Tom Burke), which took place in the first film. In the aftermath, Julie reckons with her feelings for him and produces her graduation film.
The movies are based on Hogg's real-life experiences, telling the story of first loves and women's formative years.
ICYMI, Mashable described 2019's The Souvenir as "one of the most exquisite viewing experiences of the year, and one of the most excruciating." So if that isn't reason enough to go away and watch both, I don't know what is.
The Souvenir Part II arrives in cinemas on Oct. 29.
