Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma Attend the US Open to Cheer Serena Williams: "Just Awesome"

Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma have been enjoying a variety of adventures this summer, including an idyllic vacation in Italy . On Aug. 29, the pair continued their streak by attending the US Open together, joining Oprah Winfrey, Queen Latifah, and more in cheering on Serena Williams at the match. "Watching Serena winning again was just awesome!!!" Wilson wrote on Instagram , sharing two photos of the pair in celebration of Williams's first-round win . Wilson first confirmed she was dating Agruma on June 9 when she posted a picture of her and Agruma on Instagram along with the caption, "I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince . . . but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess." Wilson later indicated that her relationship was nearly made public without her consent by The Sydney Morning Herald , which published a since-removed op-ed on June 11 that stated it had been planning to run a story about Wilson and her girlfriend two ...

The stars of 'Brahmāstra' talk fantasy, film, and love

At first blush, Brahmāstra appears sizable, from its star-studded cast to its larger-than-life special effects. The Bollywood film, distributed by Star Studios and Disney, is the first in a three-part trilogy and sets a precedent for India too; the franchise presents the country's first original cinematic universe . Officially entitled Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva , the film is set in modern India, with traditional mythology and history as its foundation. The world in which Brahmāstra resides has been crowned the "Astraverse" by its makers, derived from the word "astra" or objects of power . This umbrella term is a good indication of what Brahmāstra seems to be offering. Director Ayan Mukerji is said to be taking the essence of a fictional realm and infusing it with facets of India, Hinduism, and the country's culture, threading each component into the massive upcoming release. The beginnings of Brahmāstra The film's complex story was conceived by ...

'House of the Dragon': Who exactly is the Crabfeeder?

In the Game of Thrones universe there are plenty of morally grey characters. The original show had the often dubious likes of Jaime Lannister and Theon Greyjoy, while House of the Dragon has already introduced the sneaky Daemon Targaryen, and the (arguably even sneakier) Otto Hightower . But some characters are just out-and-out bad. In Game of Thrones, we endured the relentlessly cruel Ramsay Bolton, and in House of the Dragon there's a new villain in town: The Crabfeeder (Daniel Scott-Smith). But who exactly is he, and what do we know about him? SEE ALSO: Who's who in 'House of the Dragon': The Targaryen family tree What do we know about the Crabfeeder so far? We're first introduced to the Crabfeeder, whose real name is Craghas Drahar, during a small council meeting in the very first episode of House of the Dragon. "The growing alliance among the free cities has taken to styling itself 'The Triarchy.' They have amassed on Bloodstone, an...

Princess Diana's Legacy Lives On Through Her Most Iconic Photographs

Diana, Princess of Wales, was, and still is, an icon. From the moment she entered the limelight as a member of the British royal family, Princess Diana was one to watch . After being killed in a car accident 25 years ago, on Aug. 31, 1997, in Paris, the People's Princess's legacy continues to live on through her children, Prince William and Prince Harry, five grandchildren, and in all the charities she started . Her time as Prince Charles's wife - the two were married in 1981 and divorced in 1996 - wasn't without controversy, but in the end, Princess Diana remains an icon to fans all over the world. Her style, grace, and charitable heart made an everlasting impression. Whether you love her for her fashion or her ability to break barriers within royal protocol and still come out on top, she will never be forgotten. Part of that long-lasting fame is captured in the beautiful photographs we have of her today. Take a look at some of Princess Diana's most memorab...

'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' review: Tolkien adaptation is a triumphant return to Middle-earth

You know that sense of pure joy that comes from watching a world you love get translated marvelously to the screen? That's the feeling you'll get when watching The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power . Prime Video's series is a stunning, meticulously crafted love letter to J.R.R. Tolkien and Middle-earth. It draws from a variety of Tolkien's works, including The Silmarillion and the appendices of The Lord of the Rings . However, showrunners J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay also make the bold choice to weave entirely new storylines and characters into stories we may already know. Instead of pulling focus from Middle-earth as we know it, these new stories help bring parts of the world we haven't yet seen onscreen to life. In the end, The Rings of Power 's gamble pays off: It is as much a fully-fledged portrait of Tolkien's universe as it is an epic tale of the battle between good and evil. The show is being produced by the company behind the video game Cyberpunk 2077 , and judging by the trailer, the series will be just as much of a sensory overload. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is available to stream from Sept. 13.

Adam Driver Transforms Into an '80s Dad in the Trailer For "White Noise"

Netflix has confirmed the premiere date and released the trailer from its upcoming film "White Noise," starring Greta Gerwig and an unrecognizable Adam Driver . In the first footage from the new movie, coming later this year, Driver plays an '80s professor whose life quickly spirals out of control. The film also stars Don Cheadle and Jodie Turner-Smith. "White Noise" is directed by Gerwig's partner, Noah Baumbach , who also directed Driver in 2019's "Marriage Story" and 2014's "While We're Young." "White Noise" is based on the 1985 novel of the same name by Don DeLillo, which won the National Book Award. According to Netflix , Baumbach revisited the novel during the pandemic and realized how timely its message still is. The new movie also marks Gerwig's return to acting. She last appeared as a voice-over actor in 2018's "Isle of Dogs." Gerwig used that break to pursue directing work, including ...

Netflix's 'Thai Cave Rescue' trailer is a tense retelling of a true story

In the summer of 2018, an international rescue operation was held after 12 members of a Thai boys' football team and their 25-year-old assistant coach were trapped underground in Tham Luang Nang Non cave following heavy rainfall and flooding. Now, following E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin's documentary, The Rescue , and Ron Howard's film, Thirteen Lives, the story of their rescue has been recreated as a Netflix limited series by showrunners Michael Russell Gunn and Dana Ledoux Miller, starring Thaneth Warakulnukroh, Papangkorn Lerkchaleampote, and Pratya Patong. From the looks of the trailer above the story will have multiple perspectives, from that of the boys themselves to the divers putting together their rescue plans, and the terrified parents praying for their safe return. Thai Cave Rescue: Limited Series is streaming on Netflix from Sep. 22.

'House of the Dragon' episode 3 trailer teases dragons versus pirates

House of the Dragon is off to a strong start, but if there's one thing we haven't seen much of so far, it's battles. Episode 3 looks like it will take care of that. In the trailer above we see tension building between King Viserys and his increasingly no-nonsense daughter Princess Rhaenyra before the action cuts across the water, to Prince Daemon and Lord Coryls suiting up for a clash with the Crabfeeder, Craghas Drahar. Strap in, because things are about to get fiery. New House of the Dragon episodes are available every Sunday on HBO and HBO Max.

'Three Thousand Years of Longing' doesn't realize its romantic fantasy is a horror story

George Miller has awed audiences with the adorable Babe: Pig in the City , the toe-tapping musical Happy Feet , and the eye-popping action epic Mad Max: Fury Road . But with his latest film, the visionary filmmaker who's made us root for plucky porcine protagonists and snarling rogues has made major missteps. Starring Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton, Three Thousand Years of Longing is meant to be a rapturous romance all tied up with a luscious ribbon of fantasy and magic. But in the end, it proves a harrowing horror story, unaware of how its perspective — rooted in privilege and racism — disintegrates its love story.  Co-written and directed by Miller, Three Thousand Years of Longing centers on a white English woman named Alithea Binnie (Swinton). With a crisp red bob of hair, bold circular glasses, and sharp yet brightly colored outerwear, she seems to have skipped out of the twee worlds of Wes Anderson ( a realm with which Swinton is familiar ). In her bouncy narration...

Megan Thee Stallion on Making Her Late Parents Proud: "How Can I Impress Them Today?"

Megan Thee Stallion has been navigating fame on her own ever since the deaths of her mother and grandmother back-to-back in 2019. Though the " Traumazine " rapper has previously opened up about losing her family - including her father who died when she was 15 years old - she got candid about her fondest memories with her late parents in a new interview with The Cut , published on Aug. 29. "I had the coolest parents in the world and I just wanted to be a good mix of both of them, and I feel like I am." In her profile story, Megan talked about juggling success while parenting herself and recalled the days when her mom, Holly "Holly-Wood" Thomas - who was also a rapper - helped manage her career. "Me and my mom had this good-cop, bad-cop thing going on," she told The Cut of how they would handle industry meetings. "So she would come in the room like, 'This what we ain't doing. F*ck that.' And I'd be like, 'Okay, so, gu...

Meghan Markle is reflecting on post-royal life as she looks toward her new chapter. The Duchess of Sussex spoke in detail about her most recent endeavors - including her newly-launched "Archetypes" podcast - following her and Prince Harry's royal exit in a rare interview with The Cut , published on Aug. 29. In it, Markle got candid about her decision to leave social media behind (and a potential return to at least one platform), her and Harry's move to Montecito, California , their forthcoming projects with Netflix , and how they're currently teaching their son, Archie , manners. She also discussed how she and the Duke of Sussex found their massive $14.65 million Montecito home. Markle's new interview comes nearly a year-and-a-half after she and Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 for a wide-ranging televised conversation . The interview led to disclosures about the scrutiny and blatant racism Markle has experienced since she and Harry firs...

Fergie and Her Son Axl Duhamel Love to Match in Their Cutest Photos

Former Black Eyed Peas star Fergie and her son, Axl, are two peas in a pod. Fergie shares Axl with her ex-husband, Josh Duhamel , whom she split from in 2017 . Since then, the two have been successfully coparenting their child , and Axl has been Fergie's go-to date for nights out, events, and even a Black Lives Matter protest. Axl is named after Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses, and in a 2013 interview with Ellen DeGeneres , Fergie explained that the name came to her in a dream she had while pregnant. "I had this dream and I was in the audience at this festival. It was outdoors and it was all grimy and nobody knew who I was," she said. "On stage singing was Jim Morrison and then came Bob Marley and then Axl Rose. I was in heaven in this dream and I'm dancing and just getting into the music. It was really beautiful . . . and I woke Josh [Duhamel] up and I said, 'Honey, honey, honey, he kicked me. He finally kicked me.'" Axl is just as stylish as his ...

"House of the Dragon"'s Opening Credits Sequence Is a Warning and an Omen

The second episode of "House of the Dragon" introduced what appears to be the show's opening credits going forward. They feature the same theme song that was used in all eight seasons of "Game of Thrones," composed by Ramin Djawadi who did all the music for that series. Djawadi returns to score "House of the Dragon," but the show's creative team didn't change the iconic theme song itself. The "Game of Thrones" opening credits famously featured models of the most important locations in Westeros and across the Narrow Sea. As events took place on the show that changed those locations, those changes were also made to the models shown in the credits. When the Lannisters took the Iron Throne, the banners in King's Landing changed from stags to lions. When Winterfell was burnt to the ground, that was represented visually, too. The "House of the Dragon" credits use a similar strategy, with a pretty big change. Instead of u...

Exclusive look at 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' reveals the secrets of Khazad-dûm

When Lord of the Rings fans hear the words "Khazad-dûm," they may think of the ruins of the Mines of Moria, where Gandalf battled a Balrog in The Fellowship of the Ring . However, before the dwarves delved too greedily and too deep, Khazad-dûm was a grand kingdom of great power. An exclusive look at Prime Video's upcoming series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power offers us a glimpse of Khazad-dûm at the height of its glory, thousands of years before Frodo first picked up the One Ring. We see massive buildings carved in the rock below the Misty Mountains, cascading waterfalls pouring through the mines, and the great halls of the dwarves. SEE ALSO: 'Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' Comic-Con trailer gives us our first look at Sauron (probably) The featurette also digs into how The Rings of Power will explore dwarven culture. The Trailer For Daniel Radcliffe's Weird Al Movie Perfectly Parodies Music Biopics

Daniel Radcliffe is portraying pop parody legend "Weird Al" Yankovic in the upcoming biopic titled "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story," coming to The Roku Channel. On Aug. 29, the streamer released the long-awaited trailer for the film, which perfectly parodies every musician biopic cliche. Watch the trailer ahead! Yankovic first confirmed the movie was happening via a statement back in January to Entertainment Weekly . "When my last movie 'UHF' came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork. I'm very happy to say we're on schedule," the five-time Grammy-winning parody musician said. "And I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for." On March 2, Roku announced that Evan Rachel Wood has also joined the film to portray pop icon Ma...

How Hillary Clinton Inspired Eve Best's Role on "House of the Dragon"

On "House of the Dragon," Eve Best plays Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, the cousin of King Viserys who's known to most of the realm as "The Queen Who Never Was." That's because when the old king had to choose a successor, the choice came down to the pair, and the lords of Westeros overwhelmingly chose Viserys for the Iron Throne despite the fact that Rhaenys was higher up in the line of succession. Their sexist choice is a burden Rhaenys lives with for the rest of her life; during the first episode's tourney, a knight throws it in her face. Best tells POPSUGAR that she was inspired by a real political figure when exploring her character - Hillary Clinton. "What happens in the tournament is just a classic example of just people endlessly reminding her of the greatest wound of her life," she says of Rhaenys, and that reminded the actor of Clinton's journey after the 2016 election. "There is lots of resonance with that whole situation th...
