After a long wait, House of the Dragon is finally here to fill the Game of Thrones-shaped hole in our lives.
And after the series' first episode filled with the usual recipe of scheming, violence, dragons, and more scheming, HBO has dropped a "weeks ahead" trailer that promises plenty more where that came from.
In the two-minute clip above we get a sense of what's to come, from the tensions surrounding Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) being named as successor ("the realm will not accept her") to tensions brewing within the Targaryen family itself ("You are no conqueror, you're a plague!" spits King Viserys (Paddy Considine) at one point, as he holds a knife to the throat of his brother Prince Daemon (Matt Smith)).
Aside from that that there's more mention of the "Song of Ice and Fire" prophecy that anyone who's seen Game of Thrones will be more than familiar with, a few battle sequences with Prince Daemon, and plenty more swooping shots of those scaly, winged fire-breathers cutting through the sky.
We can't wait.
New House of the Dragon episodes are available every Sunday on HBO and HBO Max.
