Save $20: As of Aug. 16, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (both the digital code and physical game) are $39.99 at Amazon, saving you 33% on the game that hasn't been on sale since the Booster Course Pass became available.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been out for five years now, but it's totally still worth buying — especially now that Nintendo is throwing us a bone in the form of 48 new tracks.
For the first time since the first wave of new tracks dropped, Amazon is offering both the digital code and physical game versions of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for $39.99. That $20 savings is nearly enough to cover the $24.99 Booster Course Pass that you'll need to access the new tracks as they come out throughout the next two years.
After countless Nintendo Direct events with no mention of a new Mario Kart game, there's no reason to wait around for the currently-nonexistent ninth iteration. It's the best-selling game on the Switch for a reason, and no one expects its popularity to drop given the ever-growing list of track options. The expansion pack features highly-awaited revamps of beloved classics like Coconut Mall and Waluigi Pinball, a handful of scenic travel destinations from Mario Kart Tour, plus brand new worlds like Sky High Sundae as a treat.
Two of the six total waves have already been released (in March and August 2022), with the remaining waves to be dispersed throughout the end of 2023.
