'Goodnight Mommy' has been remade for some ungodly reason

A woman wearing bandages on her face reads to her children in bed.

If you've seen the 2014 Austrian horror film Goodnight Mommy, you're already outta here with a big ol' nooooooooope.

For those who remain, welcome! You're about to enjoy the absolute nightmare that is a remake of a terrifying film about twin brothers who aren't quite sure if their mother is exactly the person she was when she left earlier for cosmetic surgery.

Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti star as Elias and Lukas, who arrive at the country house of their mother (well-proven horror lead Naomi Watts) to find her recovering from surgery with bandages on her face. But she's being real weird. Increasingly showing strange and erratic behaviour, the boys seem to suspect the person underneath might not be their dear mom at all.

Brand New Cherry Flavor director Matt Sobel is behind the helm of this Prime Video remake, so if you think it won't make you squirm...lol.

Goodnight Mommy is streaming on Prime Video Sept. 16.
