At the heart and center of The 100 are Clarke Griffin and Bellamy Blake. Beginning their journey as rivals, the two evolved into uneasy allies before eventually becoming best friends. Their relationship is one of the most complicated and emotional attributes of the series. Their personalities and skills balance each other out, and when operating together, they do their best work. Unfortunately, they're not always on the same side. With so much occurring, Clarke and Bellamy have been influenced by many people and haven't always seen eye-to-eye.
When they're on opposing sides, that's when the worst things tend to happen. But, they didn't always understand that. Over seven seasons, Clarke and Bellamy had been on quite a journey together, yet they didn't work as a team all the time.
10 Same Side: Protecting The Hundred
It may have taken them a while to get there, but Clarke and Bellamy have a reliable connection as co-leaders by the end of season one. After Charlotte's death and their conversation during "Day Trip," Clarke and Bellamy are a force to be reckoned with.
Their main priority is to keep the delinquents safe from the Grounders. The co-leaders try their best to keep the remaining hundred safe, doing what they believe is in the best interest of them all. Their devotion to that wish keeps them connected when they reunite in season two.
9 Weren't: Lexa Or Pike
When Clarke decides to stay in Polis with Lexa, it is another hit to Bellamy. Bellamy was desperate to rescue Clarke, only to have her choose to remain separated from him. Between Clarke's decision and Echo blowing up Mount Weather, which killed Bellamy's girlfriend Gina inside, Bellamy's anger was taking its toll.
Charles Pike's hatred of Grounders helped feed Bellamy's grief and anger. Clarke and Bellamy ended up on opposite sides as Bellamy joined Pike's force against Grounders as Clarke tries to ensure Skaikru's place among the clans.
8 Same Side: Defeating A.L.I.E
Even after their problems regarding Pike and Lexa, Clarke and Bellamy still forgave each other and worked toward the season finale's antagonist. Jaha had been giving out chips to the City of Light the entire season, allowing A.L.I.E access to everyone's minds.
With so many already under A.L.I.E's influence, it was up to Clarke, Bellamy, Octavia, Raven, and Monty to save the day. While Clarke took on the Flame and the City of Light, Bellamy was left in the real world to protect Clarke's body.
7 Weren't: Putting The Flame In Madi
The Flame has been a crucial part of Grounder culture and history, but it was supposed to be retired. After the Conclave, everyone believed the time of the Commanders was over and that Octavia was the leader of Wonkru. However, no one expected Madi, the last remaining natural Nightblood, to exist.
Not a fan of how Octavia leads her people, Bellamy believes that the best way to save his friends and gain the valley peacefully was to place the Flame in Madi's head, turning her into a Commander. Clarke begged Bellamy not to go through with the plan. She made it known that they were not in agreement about Bellamy's plan, but he did it anyway.
6 Same Side: Mount Weather
Clarke left Mount Weather as soon as she could after seeing what was happening behind the scenes. Bellamy is just as horrified after hearing tales of Grounders locked in cages and drained of their blood. Their priority mission becomes rescuing the forty-seven from Mount Weather, launching a plan that has Bellamy get into the mountain as an inside man.
Although they communicate mostly over the radio after that, Clarke and Bellamy remain firmly on the same side on their final choice to pull the lever.
5 Weren't: The Shepherd
One of the most hated choices of the series has The 100 pin Clarke against Bellamy after he believes strongly in transcendence. After reuniting, Bellamy immediately betrays his friends, telling Cadogan that Clarke doesn't have the Flame. Bellamy's belief in the Shepherd and his cause is something none of his friends can contemplate.
Bellamy is willing to do whatever it takes "for all mankind," even if it means torturing his friends. In Bellamy's last moments, he was ready to risk Madi's life for the cause he had only just learned about.
4 Same Side: Surviving Praimfaya
Many past issues are pushed to the side or forgiven in preparation for the upcoming death wave. With Praimfaya on the way, Clarke and Bellamy work as a team to figure out ways to survive the apocalypse. Everyone is working together to prepare for Praimfaya, which leaves less conflict between Clarke and Bellamy.
They write the list of those who could survive in the Ark and work together searching for other alternatives. Although they end up separated, Clarke and Bellamy were both determined to do their parts to reach the Ring.
3 Weren't: First Days On The Ground
At first, Clarke and Bellamy did not get along. More often than not, the duo was arguing. Bellamy's attitude and wish to prevent the Ark from following the hundred to Earth frustrated Clarke.
Meanwhile, Clarke's viewpoint of things was enough to rile Bellamy up. While they had their moments of respecting each other and getting to know the other, they had two clear different perspectives on how to survive.
2 Same Side: Do Better
Monty's last words to Bellamy and Clarke as he says goodbye in his video were for them and the rest of their friends to do better. Throughout season six, Clarke and Bellamy strive to achieve that wish. While Josephine taking up residence in Clarke's body certainly puts a dent into that plan, they don't give up.
Clarke and Bellamy try to do things differently this time to avoid mass deaths and save as many innocents as they can. While some still end up dead, Clarke and Bellamy's conversation at the end of the sixth season references asking if they had done better.
1 Weren't: Bunker Door
A lot was going on during "The Other Side." Praimfaya was approaching, but there was one detail that did not sit right with Bellamy. To protect the human race, Clarke had stolen the bunker and locked the door to prevent others from coming in. Octavia is outside, and Bellamy is not going to let the death wave take his sister.
Clarke and Bellamy fight it out in a race to the bunker door. When it came down to it, with Clarke aiming a gun at Bellamy and Bellamy not backing down, Clarke could not kill him and lowered the weapon, letting Bellamy open the door.
