Billie Lourd dazzles in chic black and white dress at the SXSW Booksmart premiere

She's one of the stars of Olivia Wilde's directorial debut, Booksmart. Billie Lourd, 26, hit the red carpet for the upcoming comedy at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.

The Star Wars actress was smiling ear-to-ear in a stylish black and white dress.

The 5ft1in actress' white leather top featured a black velvet bow on the shoulder, while exposing the opposite shoulder and emphasizing her toned arms. Its long velvety skirt pooled on the floor and completely obscured her open-toe heels.

Billie had her brunette hair parted down the middle and tied back in a tight ponytail so as not to draw attention from her sultry smoky eyes. She wore a fun pair of golden orb earrings with multicolored stones embedded in them that looked like Christmas tree ornaments.

The Scream Queens star is featured in Booksmart alongside Lady Bird's Beanie Feldstein, Lisa Kudrow and Jason Sudeikis. The film marks Olivia Wilde's feature-length directorial debut.

While walking the red carpet, the rising star spotted her father, talent agent Bryan Lourd, as well as his husband, Bruce Bozzi, co-owner of The Palm steakhouse in Manhattan. Billie will also be seen later this year when she returns at Lieutenant Connix for Star Wars: Episode IX, the conclusion to the revived trilogy.

Though she was all smiles at the joyous premiere, Billie suffered enormous loss over the past few years. Her mother, Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher, died on December 27, 2016, after suffering cardiac arrest four days earlier on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

The day after her death, Carrie's mother, Singin' In The Rain star Debbie Reynolds, suffered a stroke while planning funeral arrangements. She died later the same day. Despite losing to of the most important figures in her life in quick succession, Billie's career is on an upward trajectory. The still-untitled Star Wars: Episode IX will be released nationwide on December 20, 2019.
