Janet Jackson makes her first red carpet appearance amid Leaving Neverland controversy as she's inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

Janet Jackson turned up the glamour factor Friday at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, where she was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. It is the first time the singer has been seen at a red carpet event amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the Leaving Neverland documentary which exposes child sexual abuse allegations against her late brother Michael Jackson. Janet has yet to comment on the accounts given by accusers Wade Robson and James Safechuck.

The 52-year-old pop legend wore a floor-length black gown with long robe-like split sleeves that allowed for a glimpse at her orange leather opera gloves.

Near the hem, her luxurious gown was decorated with feathery black and orange fringe, and a couple of slits up the side revealed glittering black trousers. Accentuated her superstar features with makeup, the triple-divorcee flashed her megawatt smile for the shutterbugs as she posed on the red carpet.

Janelle Monae, who was tapped to induct Janet, showed her typical flair for fashion in a shimmering sequined black trouser suit. She wore the blazer and trousers with no top, allowing for a glimpse at her black bra, which was strung with glistening chains. Wearing a slick of scarlet lipstick, Janelle teased her hair into a do redolent of the 1940s and rounded off the ensemble with a pageboy cap.

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the songwriting team who are most famous for their work with Janet, were Blues Brothers chic at the swank affair. Posing in matching black suits, fedoras and sunglasses, they stood side by side and pointed playfully at the cameras from the red carpet. The Cure were also being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame that day, and gathered together as a quintet to pose at the event.

Reeves Gabriels, Simon Gallup, Robert Smith, Roger O'Donnell and Jason Cooper - the present members of the group - matched each other in black. When the band was first founded in the West Sussex town of Crawley back in the mid-1970s, the only one of the current members who was in it was Robert. Pearl Thompson, formerly known as Porl Thompson and an erstwhile member of The Cure, cut a splashy figure at the event in a quite loud ensemble.

Steven Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band swung by in a bright purple suit and dark bandanna, wrapping an arm around his wife Maureen. Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac fame was also entering the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame that day, and though she skipped the red carpet she did perform. She was joined onstage by former One Direction member Harry Styles, who posed with her afterwards, holding Stevie's trophy for her.

On the carpet, Mick Fleetwood modeled a pinstriped blazer and matching waistcoat with a pink shirt and pocket square, leading along his girlfriend Chelsea Hill. Mike Campbell, also of Fleetwood Mac, posed flamboyantly on the red carpet with his wife Marcie, the two of them flinging their arms in the air. The festive spirit of the occasion was clearly quite affecting Mike, who planted a warm kiss on his wife's cheek as she leaned in toward him.

Brian May, whose old band Queen were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame nearly two decades ago, made an appearance at Friday's bash as well. The Zombies, comprised of Hugh Grundy, Chris White, Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone, were being inducted Friday as well and were glimpsed at the fete. Duran Duran's John Taylor and Simon Le Bon, who will be inducing Roxy Music into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, looked in good cheer at the Barclays Center.

The hunky Simon threw an arm affectionately around John as the photographers snapped away at them during the red carpet portion of the festivities. Sheryl Crow was a showstopper this Friday in a plunging mini that flashed her cleavage and played up her enviably trim legs. The 57-year-old singing sensation wore black leather stiletto boots that complemented the black and silver fringe motif of her dress.

Along with Janet, Stevie, The Cure, The Zombies and Roxy Music, Def Leppard and Radiohead were being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Radiohead's Ed O'Brien buttoned himself into a pearl grey seersucker three-piece suit for the party, posing with his bandmate Philip Selway. Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles arrived at the Barclays Center in a black trouser suit with gleaming lapels and a simply elegant white blouse.
